WTF

So in the land of not-really-a-mofo-but-what-the-hell, someone just handed me a fork.

Yes.

A fork.

A metal fork.

That they had apparently found underneath the computer desks.

That had clearly been used recently.

I do not know how it got there. I do not want to know how it got there. I do not care if whoever put it there wants it back, it is not going in the lost and found. It is going in the trash.

Um...ew?

Why would anyone think you want the fork anyway?

I think the guys who handed it to me were as confused as I was, and had no idea what to do with it either. But I have no clue about the person who left it there in the first place.

Thankfully it was only a fork. We've had... "drug paraphenalia" (and not just for Mary Jane, either) found in the stacks. Also, large knives.

Yeah, I've seen worse (the time we found poop in the kids' room being the prime example), but it was still weird.

At least a utility kitchen knife size, and possibly a cleaver, if memory serves.

I am trying really hard to imagine the scenario where I enter a library, not only with a knife, but then also foolishly leave it behind somehow...like I got so into riffling the NYT that I forgot it, after gingerly laying it down to scratch my head.

More like "brought it into the library to drop it off for my friend who would then use it for some other nefarious purpose."

Oh hey, that's where it went!

Sorry, not returning it!
