One more...

And because Monday's idiots weren't enough, there is now a lady sitting at one of our tables on her computer.

This would usually be totally fine - we've got at least four other people on the floor on their laptops, whatever, I don't care, we have free wifi and plugs and stuff.

This lady is on a desktop.

A fully setup desktop that she carried here.

With a printer.

A fully setup large printer.

That is beeping.

Incessantly.

I may have to strangle her.

Edit: And it's not just a printer. It has a phone.

...I'm pretty sure you're not actually connected to a phone line, lady.

hence the beeping! lol

I think due to how disturbing this could be to other patrons, turning the library into a personal home office should be on a list of legit no-no's (not just understandable pet peeves)

Seriously, I do not even know. I didn't get any complaints, but...

wow that's like a scene from Monty Python's "Spot the Looney." Who *does* that?

Apparently this lady? I mean, she's somewhat of a regular, but usually she's just on a laptop, which is fine. Or occasionally she'll switch between the laptop and one of our desktops, which are connected to our printer - you can't print from a random laptop - but that's also fine. This was just weird.

We have a patron who brings in a desktop computer too, but no beeping printer thank goodness. I think he's either studying engineering or running his business off our wireless. :o)

I just...why would you carry a desktop around? I mean, you have to have the CPU, the monitor, the mouse, and the keyboard to even get it working, and that's pretty damn heavy.

Because you can easily build your own desktop, but building your own laptop is tricky?

Two bucks bet that she comes and complains that your wifi won't let her send a fax and demand you fix it ;)

Haha! She didn't, this time, but...we'll see in the future, I guess.

That was one of the first episodes I saw. They had me at: "Look, man, this is like stone knives and bearskins, okay? Nobody's asking Eliot to fight a guy with a Nerf sword." "Damascus, 2002." :-)

...well, I'm sure we have people who use us as their office, but a full desktop? Whatever it was they're doing, it must be "important".
