I swear I heard you the first time

Dear Patrons,

If you ask me a question, and I tell you I don't know, asking me a different way will not get you another answer. I heard you the first time, and the answer is still the same. I can find the answer for you, but I won't make one up just because that takes less time for you.

Also, to the girl taking an online lifeguard exam and talking on the phone, reading off your questions to apparently get the answer: where are you planning to work? Because I will avoid it like the plague.

hat lifeguard test thing is very scary. One thing I like about being a librarian--no one's going to die if I mess up.

Oh yeah! It sounded like she already had a job with the place, but needed to do the exam for some reason anyway... I really should have asked!

I would want to avoid that beach or pool as well.

Some people want answers to near-impossible questions, though. Like "Where are they keeping the real Obama birth certificate?" or "Please give me all the books about the North American Union that's going to form next year."

True. One of the patrons asked tablet-related questions that I didn't know; I gave her resources for it, and she still kept asking me the same questions. I still don't know!

Ha! Awesome.

Oh, please. Don't they know that the True Obama Birth Certificate was cunningly stashed between pages 22 and 23 of The Big Red Book of Jews?

Really? I thought that was where they stashed the real Constitution?
