I'd like to send a great big THANK YOU to Oprah Winfrey for putting that link to a free KFC coupon on her website. It's just wonderful that we have 4 out of 5 printers aren't working, but 75,000 people are lining up to print their 4 coupons apiece!!

Seriously, if I have just one more person complaining about the fact that they can't print their KFC coupon, I think I'm gonna scream!!

You know, if anyone in this country could successfully start a revolution, it would be Oprah. People will do or believe anything if it's on "Oprah."

This also reminds me of the video I saw recently where people were flipping out because a Popeye's ran out of chicken due to a popular promotion and had to close.

Yes. The coupon mongers are killing me by inches today. And its not just the patrons. Mention free food to some of my co-workers and they turn into mindless zombies. And the hoarding. Good god the free food hoarding is getting ridiculous.

I've been hearing about printing disasters regarding KFC coupons for HOURS now back in the tech department. I've been wondering what the big fuss is about. :O

The worst part of it is you need a Coupon Printer installed to print the barcode...which we don't. And we don't have admin codes to install. And IT has disappeared. >.<

I was at Goodwill today and overheard a woman telling the cashier about it. "You think I have a computer?" asks the cashier. So then the customer is like, "Oh, well, you could just go to the library then, and print them off."

Made me so glad I wasn't there today. I can only imagine.

Ours won't let us install the coupon printer so all these people are out of luck. But yeah, 6 or 7 requests so far in the last week. =/

I was just going to post on this myself. Bah!
On top of the fun, yesterday the coupons were PDF's, and could be printed out on our computers (or for that matter, on Mac's...)
Today, they are now this required software download. Which we do not allow on our computers. At all.
So it's a total no-go.
And we are also the city with the popeye's that did not participate in their promotion ast week.

i'm not working the reference desk today, but a co-worker said that they haven't had anyone ask about the kfc thing. i printed the coupons last night from a work computer and it worked but it won't work on the student computers anyway, since it requires an installation of that coupon program.

Actually, almost as much fun, were the ones who couldn't print their coupon (because they weren't able to download the coupon printer software on our computers) and just printed the page 'about' the coupon and figured that would suffice.
